Participatory scenarios for restoring European landscapes show a plurality of nature values

Large-scale ecological restoration is crucial for effective biodiversity conservation and combating climate change. However, perspectives on the goals values of are highly diverse, as different approaches to e.g. ranging from cultural ecosystems rewilding. We assess how future nature envisioned in participatory scenarios, focusing which elements rewilding contributions people have been considered scenario narratives across Europe. used Nature Futures Framework archetypes a template synthesize pluralistic nature. found that often represented counteracting fail integrate plural views Culture was main archetype usually associated with positive impacts non-material benefits people.
